The Lincoln County News learned on Friday morning, the Day Block on Main Street in Damariscotta had been without power for two days.
However, power was restored at 11 a.m. Friday, with the outage attributed to a disruption in the service line traveling from the transformer on Elm Street at The Weatherbird, to the building.
“There were contributing factors,” said a CMP lineman, “but mostly, that line was over 40 years old. It just quit.”
Businesses affected included The Brush & Easel, a shop that’s last day in operation is Sat., March 28. They’ve missed out on two important closing sale days, as has regular businesses Maine Coast Photo and Cottage Garden’s annex shop on Main Street, during these tough economic times.
